Serving the people of Willington

Clerk/RFO: The Clerk

Candidate Ian Walters for Willington Parish Councillor

Candidate Ian Walters for Willington Parish Councillor

The elections for the new Parish Councillors in Willington are upon us with voting day Thursday 30th November. The Parish Council, over the next few days will show case the 6 nominees. There are only 3 places on the Council so your votes count. Second nominee is Ian Walters:

I am 48 years young and have lived in Willington for 12 years with my beautiful wife Sarah & our two wonderful children, Molly (11) and Gracie (7) who both currently attend Willington Primary School.

I am Head of Sales for a Health & Wellbeing company based in Castle Donington and have previously held head of finance positions

I am the current treasurer of the Willington Raft Race committee, and have been a member of a crew participating in this popular village race for 8 years.

I enjoy football, golf and tennis and walking up to the marina with the family on cold Sunday afternoons.

I adore this village and could not imagine myself living anywhere else, it has great facilities; school, surgery, chemist, pubs, village hall, train station, restaurants, takeaways, sports facilities, shops (the place really does have everything) and above all friendly and sociable residents.

I am no expert in politics or council matters, but I care about the people in this village and I care about maintaining this village as one of the best places to live and bring children up in the U.K.

If you want someone on the parish council who has no hidden personal agenda, but has passion, isn't afraid to speak up when action needs to be taken and who just wants the best for the people of Willington, young and old, then please vote for me 😊
