Willington FC U13s

Willington Fc U13s are looking to add 3/4 new players and another goalkeeper to a great bunch of kids. Very friendly and welcoming to all abilities wanting to develop. We train on wed 17:30-18:30 @ the power station playing fields twyford road, just turn up in your kit with shinpads and a drink.

This school summer holiday don't forget to come down to Twyford Road Playing Field to take part in FREE activities provided by South Derbyshire District Council Sports Team and paid for by Willington Parish Council. Dates on our website and the new noticeboards round the village.

Footpath Clearing This Sunday

Join Willington's Footpath Group for some tidying up of Footpath 7, near the canal and green bridge. Sunday 4th June at 10am. All welcome, sturdy footwear and gloves would be great , enthusiasm mandatory.

The new Footpaths and Open Space Group went to task on clearing one of Willington's footpaths and did a great job. If you would like to help out then please get in touch or come to the open meeting on Monday 24th April at 7pm at Willington Old School.

Litter Picking on Footpath Number 7

Following the Footpaths Group meeting on 27th February, it was agreed to hold an afternoon of litter picking/ general tidying of footpath number 7 from the underpass at Ivy Close up to the 'Green Bridge' over the railway track.The event will take place on Sunday 19th March at 1:00pm, (meet at Ivy Close underpass).All we ask is that those wishing to participate come along with appropriate clothing and perhaps some plastic bin liners.Hopefully some proper 'litter pickers'.. HGV lorries taking short cuts

HGV lorries taking short cuts

The Parish Council has been receiving many complaints regarding HGV lorries taking short cuts through the village via Hall Lane, Oaks Road, Beech Avenue. There is a specific monitoring form to report these to Derbyshire County Council Trading Standards. Please complete this form with as much detail as possible and then hopefully some action can be taken.
